I bet to this day he really can't tell if he is alive or dead, if this is some alternate reality he's trapped in.

@jackler1 it had enough force to knock them clear off his head. maybe it wouldn't of killed him, but holy hell it would of done damage

@jessedddd I am well aware how NR headphones work and fit. I own two . Hit squarely, with a rock that weighs as much as a .50 cal bullet (45 grams +) I most certainly could knock a headset off your head . Look closely, you will see that the debris is not from the headphones but from the table as he turns and the guns tips. The only thing missing from those headphones was the foam muff, which btw comes off readily from my set. Plastic does dent or shatters - neither happened. Hardly lethal here

I'm pretty sure there was more than one part of the earmuff that came apart, and the earmuffs for firing a gun are meant to reduce the noise. If the earmuff was loose on his head it would have done a poor job silencing the noise. With a small rock, there's no way you would knock off earmuffs like that.
Oh and plastic doesn't dent...

The earmuffs didn't explode, the foam comfort ring that fits around all earmuffs of that kind came off. You would know that if you had ever fired a gun at a range, including a .50. I most certainly COULD knock a headset off your head with a rock and not a very big one at that. Had the shooter been hit anywhere on his body but his eyes he would have been fine. Sure it would have hurt like hell but that is all. Look at the headset after they pick them up, not even a dent...

No worse than a rock thrown?
I'm sorry but did you not see the earmuffs explode?
id like to see you do that kind of damage with a rock...
Just because you've fired a .50 cal doesn't mean you can estimate the velocity based on this internet video...

The odds of that happening are not only a million to one, they are a billion to one. Not impossible, but damn near. The velocity coming back would take out an eye but would hardly be deadly; it hit the ground and bounced. No worse than a thrown rock. UNDERCOVER , people shoot at solid stationary targets all the time with infinitesimally little risk of injury. Have you seen a gun, let alone fired one? Probably not. Take it from someone who has not only fired a gun but a .50 cal, you know shit....
