Our steps to a stucco covered straw bale wall.
1) Dig a trench- I dug the trench at 16 inches. Place 4 foot rebar into the ground.
2) Pour a foundation- After I built wood forms, I chose to use a combination of riverrocks and concrete for the foundation.
3) Stack straw bales- By piercing the first ones onto the rebar, you create stable layer for the proceeding layers of straw.
4) Hammer rebar down into the top layer of straw.
5) Cover the bales with roofing paper for water-proofing.
6) Cover wall with chicken wire and sew the chicken wire onto the wall with nylon twine.
7) Trowel stucco onto wall.
8) Waterproof with a high-quality stucco paint. We don;t show this in the video, but we used Elastomerit.

Thanks for watching!
