@tantepie - I would like to see your research indicating that e-cigs are dangerous. Yes, nicotine is not a good drug, but neither is caffeine or alcohol (both of which are extremely addictive), so what are we going to do....ban everything that isn't good for you? I admire your conviction to quit, but don't impose your will on everyone else. Besides, history has shown us what happens with prohibition. How soon we forget.
Except that e-cigarettes are not marketed toward people who don't already smoke. Find me ONE instance where they have been. The government is trying to shut down e-cig sales entirely. The tobacco companies currently have no vested interest in e-cigs and would surely like their sales shut down as well (until they have their own version), and e-cigs have nothing to do with the Big Pharma either. The gov't wants them gone because they DON'T make money off of them.
tantepie, you've tried the electronic cigarette and you've determined that they are still dangerous based on what? Did you have some sort of health issues that arose suddenly after trying them? No? That's what I thought.
Of course inhaling anything but the cleanest of air (which, in hospitals, is cleaned using propylene glycol--the main ingredient in e-cigarette liquid) is not 100% safe, but that doesn't mean e-cigs aren't 1000% safer than cigarettes. I don't want to quit. I want e-cigs.
tantepie. there is no 'smoke' involved in smokestik. The "e-cigarettes" you tried were likely made in China, which have been found to harbor harmful chemicals. Smokestik, however, is made in the United States, and is composed of three things: nicotine, water, and Propylene glycol (ruled safe for consumption by the FDA) I wish you luck on quiting. I, however, am about to enjoy nicotine without worry.
