I think Janis Joplin had infunished business and raised hell until God let her come back. She came in the form of Nikka Costa. But she wanted a little bit more, so she asked for that funky black soul. Voila!

so true, was talking with the bassist that was on tour with her, and he agrees, big talent thats not being recognized. blame it on the shit that is being produced these days....utter crap. Nikka is the real deal. Also the recorded songs as good as they are, pales compared to the live show, a must see.

We are a nation of tasteless individuals. If we were not, this chick would be bigger than Beyonce or Lady GaGa. It is no suprise to see all of the comparisons to Janis Joplin. Unlike the other white female singers, this girl's talent is the real shit. You can train up Josh Stone; a Nikka Costa is born to do this.
