2 hours north of Tokyo is the small town of Chichibu. In December, they have a night festival where they pull old wooden floats through the streets. The floats can be as high as 30 feet and are decorated with colorful designed fabrics and strewn with lanterns. People ride on the floats chanting and singing. They also do Noh plays, traditional music, and fireworks.

I've been there twice and this is a montage of scenes from the event I took a few years ago.
