@gadgettts - Did I misunderstand your presentation or did you make a bit of a boob in your understanding of the product?
I love my H4 and my H2 and wouldn't do without them but I have cheaper pieces of recording equipment with far more accurate timebases and Zoom/Samson's denial that there is anything wrong with the timebase is somewhat dishonest given the number of people who have fallen foul of this issue. A common sickness in modern business - The chocolate-fireguard syndrome.

widowsbreath,
Thanks for the compliment. I shrug off most of the hateful stuff, but it's nice to hear a friendly voice once in a while.

How do I use the 4-track recording? all the buttons is green and when i push sometinh it turns red! It's craZy!
4 track mode allows you to use the mics as well as the inputs?
Are you SURE about that?
As far as I can tell, it's one or the other but never both and 4 track mode does not allow simultaneous recording of all 4 tracks.
The main problem I've found with the H4 is its timebase. Dreadfully inaccurate!
Useless for recording audio for stitching to video unless you're prepared to mess about stretching the audio to fit. Great product, crippled by shoddy components.

@RoadRunnerLaser,
Up to two tracks can be recorded simultaneously. Up to four tracks can be played back simultaneously. You can overdub onto any of the recorded tracks.
I too have had a problem with the inaccurate timebase on the H4. That's why we no longer use it as the mike for our live shots. We do however still use it for field recording and most of our VO.

brunotag,
Are you asking why you would want two mics at 90 degree angles to one another? Because if you are, that's the optimal angle with which you record stereo sound.
