Vertex Blend material using the red channel for the texture blend, the alpha channel for the falloff transition, and the blue channel for world offset on the z axis.

    I was able to make it work.

    the lerp is the switch; and the vertex color goes into the alpha of the lerp.

    but yours is doing SO much more!

    I also was not able to get the blue to deform the mesh like yours does.
