I was diagnosed 2 days ago with sinusitis and my doctor prescribed amoxicillin. I've taken it in the past without any problems. This time is different... I'm taking 875 mg twice a day and I just cannot function on this medication. I've had really bad nausea so far and for the first couple of hours after I take the pill I'm knocked on my butt. Seems to be having some psychoactive effects too which I'm not enjoying...irritability,nervou­sness,restlessness. Is this cause for concern?

It's probably too high a dose. Check with the doctor to get the 500mg strength. That should take care of the problem. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids, at least 1000mg Vit C, some echinacea, plenty of rest/sleep, and try to eat a good diet for the next week. You should be good to go by then.

i took it for week, started having some breathing issues after i was off it. Not sure what this is.

If it happened after the medication was over, I doubt it had anything to do with the amoxicillin.

seems that the only time i have problems with my whole body just feeling sore and weak is when i take this. i was prescribed some for a bad tooth a while back, but am now using it again for a UTI. is it normal for amoxicillin to make me feel this way?

I warn you.. NEVER smell on Amoxicillin.. just take DONT smell on it.. believe me.. you will regret it..

im so terrified of these pills now the reason im takeing them is b/c my ex called me 4 months after we split to tell me that she had chlemidea,i have never in my life had a std and i did some research and the side effects seem worse than the sickness so anyone who can tell me anything usefull i would greatly apreciate it >

this is a very good antibiotic for urine infection and ear infection too.
