Judaism and Christianity and the parting of ways

Christianity began as a movement within Judaism. In this fascinating class, Rabbi Michael Skobac discusses the steps that may have led to its morphing into a totally non Jewish religion.

  • I'm trying to learn more about my Jewish heritage because my mom converted and raised me Christian. My question is, what is the Talmud, who is it written by and does it explicitly say Jesus is bad (that's what I'm getting from the lecture so far?)

  • I don't understand that you believe in the messiah and he's coming... then when he comes because he isn't all big and tall and killing all of your enemies your like..he's not my messiah?..well what's going to happen when he does start to do that? then he's your messiah, hmm?

  • Jesus Ben Sirach? who wrote books that should have been in the biblical cannon. Wisdom is there but not alphabet.

  • @ChildofYeshua777 Ok-and?

    Viva Il Christo Re!

  • @RPenta Luke was written in about 85-90 A.D. Depends on the translation, too. KJV was 1611. Kristos is Greek for Moshiach. Kind of a language barrier.

  • @ChildofYeshua777 + In Acts 11:26 St. Luke relates that in Antioch the followers of Jesus were first called Christians; this preceeded St. Ignatius by about a generation.

  • Ignatius of Antioch coined the term Christinity. Rav Sha'ul is distorted by the churches.

  • Excuse me! But in the begining of this video LOOK THE PICTURE ON THE WALL...IDOL?!

  • Be brave, be faithful. Be redeemed. For you are the apple of his eye. In obediance God will make your enemies a footstool. In turning your hearts from his mitzvot and statutes you can be delivered into the hands of the enemy. Stand straight and be 'Kol Ari' So that all will come top know his name is the Lord. ALL! ALL! Unity can and will increase as Torah is increased. Do not be disheartened by the inflences upon your brothers. Love them. Teach them what they DO NOT KNOW. Be a light to all.

  • Do not let your hearts be swayed from your eternal covenant by those coming with extensions of loving kindness, compassion or support. Return to them the same, as you are commanded to extend to the stranger, but do not sell your BIRTHRIGHT as did the ten tribes. Emmotions (love or hate) are NO way to discern what is right in the eyes of the Almighty. DO NOT BE DECEIVED. GOD WILL KEEP HIS WORD I F Y O U D O!!!! Be bold but do not turn to anger, untill the enemy is upon you.(contabove)
