  • Badass, definitely gonna make one of these. I'm curious, would the "repair" that would need done to a torus out of a two piece version of this mold be more hassle than casting and fitting two separate torus halves? Perhaps the shrinking around the center would also be an issue at that point as well...

Either way, making one of these.

  • @greenteagod - Two piece mold - Good idea - do you mean making this mold twice, and attaching the two pieces together and then having say a 1 inch hole in one side to pour the slip into? Its probably better than 2 joining 2 separate cast halves. The problem I have found (as you say) is always if you let it dry too long, the clay grips the central core. The trick is to get it out after a while, and then once out it doesn't distort too much. You might need to make 2 or 3 attempts.

  • still interested

  • @corvusdaggrium email me at nettbar@hotmail.com

  • can u make me one?! i want one for wrapping a rodin coil i'm planning to ues 1inch copper tape forit so it needs to have a 36inch external circumference and apparently a 12 in circumference for the ring around. so could you, would you and how much would it cost?

  • @corvusdaggrium I can make you one but as you can see its quite time consuming. Also you live in the states right? So theres more danger of it breaking in the post. However. Time taken: Clay original: 1 hour. Plaster form: 1 hour. Slipcasting finishing, firing and sanding 2hrs therefore Labour = 4 hrs. Then there's materials on top of that - which is actually quite minimal. and postage. If you're still interested let me know. If so estimated production time: 1 month from January.

  • this video is really well done, thanks. also, love the music...who is it?

  • That is so cool

  • Nice job! Glad I can throw a torus on the wheel rather than go through all those processes. I like the way you filmed and edited it and your end result was worth it all.

  • have u considered making a torus out of orgonite? if you dont know what that is look up orgone energy and how to make orgonite.
