G/C is great for walzes and marches but for
the reels and jigs you really need the B/C
accordion. at least I found it so much easier
to get the notes. You get better chords so thats the compromise

Very nice. Seamless switch from one tune to the other. Well done.

I would like to know the original singer of the song, Molly Bon, my father-in-law played it years ago and I can never get the artist or even a vocal version of the song. Does anyone know it?

Eddie Coffey sings it, so does Kevin Collins, their versions are very similar, if not the same. Celtic Connection also does a version, its a bit different, I prefer one of the first 2...

Is Eddie Coffey the original singer, I thought the song was old. Do you know what year it was originally recorded?

It's impossible to tell who the original singer was; I doubt that anyone knows. Eddie Coffey probably recorded it the 60's.
It was a poem long before it was a song, writted by a Scott's man, I can't remember his name, And I guess somebody added a meledy to it . . .
