@squigglett1 Paramount killed every hero in Star Trek. They were ridiculed, killed, enslaved, pushed around and replaced with postmodern young adults.

Technically, he's not dead. According to the Star Trek Online timeline (closest thing we'll get to canon post-Nemesis), Data's mind and memory were accessed and transferred into B-4. After a few adjustments, B-4 essentially became Data, and soon afterwards, became Captain of the Enterprise, following Picard's appointment as a Federation Ambassador to Vulcan.
