@paulsthepattern That's true, that 400 year period between Malachi and Matthew is within the 483 years before the cross. It may not be 400 exactly, but chronologers don't agree on every date anyway.
By the way, notice how Malachi 4:5,6 prophesies John the Baptist's coming (Matt 11:14; Matt 17:12,13). Where Malachi's ministry left off, that's where John's ministry began. Malachi 3:1 cf. Matthew 3:1,3.

Considering Paul wrote 1 Cor 15:29 it might help to put his claim to be a Pharisee of Pharisees in historical context. Take a look at 2 Maccabees 12:40-46. In that case, it was considered honorable for the Jews to send sacrifices for the dead because of their faith in the resurrection. Paul is all up in the resurrection in 1 Cor 15 and he was no doubt familiar with the practice of Jewish sacrifice for the dead.

Don't you just love it when the Lord shines His light on His Word and we can finally see it in in the inner man! I've wondered about this verse and have read many explanations. But, when the light is shone upon it, you can see and understand. I hope this Brother will be posting more videos in the future as God directs Him. So edifying!

Malachi to Matthew: 400 years? Is that number found in the Bible, or is it an estimation?

@ROMANSthruPHILEMON If there is an exact verse that states 400 year's, I'm not aware of it. I believe it is generally agreed upon within the time frame of Daniel's 70 weeks. It is probably a general estimation. Maybe it was 405 years? Or 395 years? But, 400 is accepted time.
