Fine arts must play a critical role in Alberta's education system, as well as society as a whole, in order for us to attract the best and brightest people in the world. Alberta must strive to become a cultural Mecca and a focus on fine arts in our education system will help us to achieve that.

    The current education system is not dealing with change very well. It is, in fact, ignoring the change and hoping it goes away. As change does, it keeps changing. The system stays the same. The gap will grows until the tipping point.

    A grade 12 graduate in 2011 has limited options for a career. Post secondary education represents debt and lost revenue coupled with ever reducing job options.
