  • I think the reason for him retiring was because he knew the lions were not going anywhere anytime soon.

  • I grew up in Wyoming and I'll never forget this game. I was 9yrs old and on this day Barry became my favorite football player and still is to this day. I was lucky enough to meet him once and he was humble, polite, and all smiles. Too bad there are not more like him.

  • THE BEST THERE IS!!

  • Yeah really. I mean, you could say Hershel Walker was the best college rb because he had all the long term records and did a full showing. Or that Emmit Smith is the best rb in NFL history because he had the records and the rings. But the best OVERALL; college and NFL rb is hands down Barry Sanders. He was so consistently good it was amazing.

  • i agree he was the best hands down but he wasnt the fastest, he did however the best moves, instincts and tremendous power in those legs to keep most defenders from bringing him down. i mean looks at his thighs compared to his build and height lol, theyre like giant turkey drumsticks

  • u both are right actually becuase he retired for both of those reasons so good job guys

  • lol. u put it better than anyone couldve.

  • Just simply amazing...Thanks for that bit of nostalgia.

  • I agree, 27noah14. He's the best ever, hands down. No one had his combo of speed, agility, and outright speed.
