Assualt - Lynching, assault - lynching, assault - lyn...nope it just doesn't make sense at the end of the day. Community activism at its worst I guess...

@bananito4 don't beg it.

You have to understand that these to (white men) killed a beloved member of the San Jose community (who happened to be Jewish ) This was not a racially fueled lynching This was simply about what the people in the city called "Swift Justice"

@hartgirl042 Due process of law must be followed at all times. Vigilante justice sets a dangerous precedent for a land with no laws. These men CONFESSED to the killings. They would've been convicted and sentenced to death if the penalty was legal at this time during the trial. These lynchers were irresponsible and acting out of revenge. Rage blinded them.

@hartgirl042 This country was not founded on vigilante justice. Everyone deserves due process of law. They did a horrible, unspeakable thing; however, they deserved a trial. Gov. Rolph acted extremely irresponsible by basically encouraging this lynching.

@GusF Yup, you're right. I guess he and Brooke were best friends as kids/teenagers.

those guys kidnapped and murder an innocent young man just because they thought they could make a couple bucks. thats why they were lynched not because of racism you idiot! they deserved everything they got. they destroyed an entire family.

Apparently, one of the lynchers in San Jose was Jackie Coogan, who played Uncle Fester in the 1960s.
People get lynched for doing nothing except demanding their civil rights
