  • Me and my family are capable of most things and have done most things because of the way we live. But my ideal choice would be 1. Blacksmith/toolmaker 2. Gardener/ vegetable grower 3. Joiner/ woodworker 4. Doctor/ nurse 5. Game keeper/hunter 6. Mechanic 7. Some one who can make clothing/ leather worker 8. Some form of protection/ soldier perhaps 9. Fisherman/ ghillie 10. maybe a second of any of the above It also depends on where you live and the materials around you I suppose
  • @scottishbushcrafter Thanks for the contribution and thoughtful selection

    Tailor

    Butcher

    Flintknapper

    Bowhunter

    Cook

    Two of each

  • permaculturist/gardener

Someone with knowledge of animal husbandry

    Blacksmith/toolmaker

Someone with knowledge of traditional/alternative building skills

Forager/someone with knowledge of wild foods (inc game) and medicinal herbs

    Doctor/midwife

    Someone with cooking skills

    someone with sewing skills

    spinner

Someone who can trap and/or use a bow and arrow I don't see these as jobs tho' - just necessary skills and I would hope most people would have more than one, as I do.

  • @wildshow But of course, every one's skills should overlap, no one should be so specialized as to not being able to contribute to the community and own survival in most skillsets.

    Cheers

  • @KarlEastwood64 Many thanks for the contribution - and your right - a decent library would'nt go amiss
