This is a copy of an 8mm film my Uncle George gave me. It was Merritt coming home to Anniston, Alabama - maybe after her graduation from Beloit in Illinois? Around 1953? My Grandmother Lollie O'Connell is also in the video, but I don't know the other people. My Uncle and my dad have been searching for their niece since the late 1950's, when she just stopped writing them. Now I, and her half-sisters and half-brother, would like to find her, too. Of course, she may not want to find us. Where are you, Lucy Alice Merritt Haskell? Are you writing children's books, as you once dreamed?
P.S. Music used came from one of the audio CDs that I bought for my students to use in their multimedia creations - from FRESH MUSIC or SOUNDZABOUNDS or another music library. I do not know who Grandaddy Souf is, but his use of this background music is definitely R or X rated. If you buy this music, it is with him talking over the piano.
@fgd49v2 Not off hand. But I heard it again on another show. It IS production music, and Grandaddy Souf added his own lyrics to it, claiming it as his own.

Why is Grandaddy Souf & his x-rated lyrics Candy Licker Skit on my video? The piano music is from a production CD that I purchased for non commercial use in my high school TV production classes. NPR used this same music for a piece on potluck dishes on Morning Edition at 8:55AM on Thursday, 7/16/10. If you "Download This Song" you'll be red faced from listening to the lyrics. It is not this music.
