I love the film and the theme music. Sounds great in the "lo-fi" mono that was correct for the time. I just picked up a Jr. Zither branded "The Third Man" ( dist. by The Harbert Co. N.Y. 1950 ) made in Italy and came with about a dozen song charts
This was #1 for eleven weeks in 1950, and Anton Karas never charted another hit before or since. This is the biggest charting record ever for a one-hit artist.
I'm 13, and I know greatness when I hear and see it. Like you said, I love the phonograph, and it's a wonderful song. My grandparents have the 78, so next time I see them, I'll get it.
great film and also great of you to share with us.thank you.

Great tune and wonderful rendition by your Victrola!
I am 65, so you can imagine how moved I felt when listening to it again.
Thank you so very much for posting it.
