During the "A Future for the Past" exhibition of Allard Pierson Museum (http://www.allardpiersonmuseum.nl) in Amsterdam we are presenting two Augmented Reality applications on the MovableScreen: A virtual reconstruction of Satricum and an annotated landscape on a 1855 photograph of Forum Romanum (Rome Reborn).

  • btw, can I post a copy of this video to the Augmented Reality Games facebook group? (I know its not a game, but the group likes to cover all mainstream AR progress).

  • Nice work.

Theres fixed-pivot things like this all around Tilburg, allthough most dont seem to work right. (compass always seems off). Wonder if its the same company.

  • No, this is perfectly augmented reality.

The fact that its a fixed-pivot dosnt take away the fact its adding a virtual layer to real world footage.

Also, apperently the musuem has UMPC devices doing this too, but they arnt shown in the video.

  • And this is good because? Wow, replacing a mouse with a rotating screen that only goes left or right.

    Pure innovation!

  • this barely qualifies as augmented reality. nice use of a buzzword though.

  • That was a waste of time

  • Good idea, good implementation, good subject.
