You tube commentors are a bunch of whiney baby losers. Gowan sounds pretty good to me. He has the same sound as DeYoung and is not a gay premadonna. I am sure glad Styx is still touring. Finally as an old guy I can see a band I used to rock to when I was a teenager. I'm going this saturday.

@dl1027 I had the opportunity to meet DDY and the boys years ago. DDY was indeed a primadonna that couldnt be bothered with fans, The "New" styx stomps the hell out of ANY show that DDY was EVER a part of. Apparently the old geezers that think DDY was ever more than todays Axl rose, need a reality check. Thanks for being one of the few people whose eyes arent clouded by nostalgia.

Dennis is Styx so JY go skate with your own dumb a** on the river styx like you said about the founder of Styx, Dennis and do it with the redneck from Bama, Shaw. Your last albums suck and you guys let the best of Styx go. so the last laugh was on you and Tommy.

@dl1027 You tell them brother..... I've seen these guys 12 times and they are loving what they do... There my favorite band... I first heard them back when they had there Return To Paradise Tour in 96... and I never saw them with Dennis live in person... But when Larry came it was like a shot of life back into the band... They rock... There the reason why I play guitar....

@brandondail64 The reason they change it up is so people see another side of the song. If he sang it exactly like Dennis he would get alot more flack. ie. he isn't as good as......he shouldn't sing his songs...blah. Most of the audiance would be upset if they didn't do their classics. I bet he would rather do the new stuff he did rather than Dennis' stuff. Just be glad they are still doing it.

DeYoung's voice cant be replaced with a stand-in it was too distinct

What is Styx gonna perform? Tommy Shaw songs like Renegade Crystal Ball

or Boat On a River? Nice songs but they cant compare to DeYoung's songs which were Styx signature songs

I have great respect for Shaw but he is no Dennis DeYoung
