  • Leitmotif and El Cielo are their best albums IMO... this one was good, but I feel like they were trying too hard to sound El Cielo.

However, it's still a very good album. I ended up loving everyone of the songs on it. Just like every other dredg album.

  • @OrangeStainedGlass, thank You for your very useful comment... :)

  • I agree that this is their best CD (Catch without Arms), especially....: 'Ode to The Sun', 'Bug Eyes', 'Not that Simple', 'SPITSHINE' :) Last album is also good!

  • So, in the end, which album is the best one? :o)

  • 'The Pariah, The Parriot, The Delusion' 2009 ... Parrot? Parriot? Maybe someone has pointed that out but it made me laugh. Likewise, I really didn't dig the album. Took a while to grow on me but I love each song. The Stamp Of Origin interludes also had me confused but they link the album so well, especially the last one which takes sentences from each song to make a chorus in itself :)

Ireland is really fun to play on guitar as is Pariah itself. I don't dig the new album but it's growing on me

  • @computergeeq It's... interesting. Different. Different is a good word to use. And yet it still kind of feels like The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusions. But it doesn't at the same time. I've only listened to two songs off of that album so far (The ones on youtube) and I'm still not sure how to feel or think about it.

The songs aren't bad. It's different. But then again, El Cielo is very different compared to the first album, Leitmotif. Catch Without Arms is way different compared to El Cielo.

  • Satisfyingly heavy, crunchy, touches of My Sharona, lyrics that seem to say that we don't have enough life to sacrifice it for Big Oil. They didn't find the very best melody for the chorus, but you can't have everything.

  • @OrangeStainedGlass

What do you think of their new album, Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy?

  • @SingularityGT everyone has their own opinion. I happen to love the deftones. But I'm just glad your able to speak your mind.

  • Dredg with forever be music innovation personified. I love them ever since Leitmotif.

  • @MrKtosTam Absolutely Leitmotif.

  • Left to go on a road trip to hike the Adirondacks a few years back..Wanted to hear something new..Went into a music store and randomly found Dredg El Cielo. Said hey this looks interesting..WOW!! What a find..Now if I could just get Dredg,Porcupine Tree, Enchant, Mute Math, OSI all together for a tour...Me be Happy :-)

  • Every dredg album is so different it's very difficult to compare them all. With that in mind, El Cielo is my favorite album but it's not because the others are bad - El Cielo is just fucking amazing.
