k all this talk about motors i have a question i have a 1976 chevy k20 3 speed manual low range trans how much power should it push out its fully rebuild nothin done to it to juice it up just stock but rebuilt im jw the horsepower of it??

ahhahaahhaaha whoever made that noise at the start, you're a legend
-
Just saying, I have a 350 4 bolt and it cranks out 315 hp.

So because I said "you're not winning" means that I'm bent on "winning"? You're more of a retard than I thought. Not only do you continue to deny facts, but you go on these little tangents over the wording of my comments... That's pathetic, and is a sign of defeat. Hell, if you go do a quick Google search you can find more accurate numbers than whatever in-bred, backwoods, fucktard told you 260hp and 350lb-ft...

@Tboninator I dont know whay your problem is, your Chevy 350 does make that much power, simply because you said you wished it did, therefor it is true. But whats the problem, I said you win, thats what you want. So ill say it again, YOU WIN!!!!
-
Jesus Christ, you just don't want to learn, apparently. I'm trying to help you from making an idiot of yourself, and you constantly try to prove that you are through your attempt at sarcasm and denial of the facts. I wish my 350 made 260hp and 350 ft-lb of torque, but the fact is, it doesn't, and never did. Other 350s in the Camaros and muscles and what not made close to that, but not the trucks. I don't know why you refuse to accept this.
-
@Tboninator No, you werent wrong, like I said, you are the master god of all SMC 350's, while I am the god of everything else. So, yes you are right. Darn, I guess I loose, you win! Good job freind!

Keep in mind that I'm not saying that NO 350s came with that much power back in the day, but not in the trucks, they didn't. Like I said. Reliability was the factor for trucks. They were designed to do work, not play around, so they had big motors with little horsepower to increase their strength.
There were many different 350s in that era that produced varying power figures, but keep in mind the trucks were not as powerful as the cars.

As you can see, I was completely wrong on everything I said, even though everything I said is, indeed, factual and true, and can be backed up both by hard evidence and the word of those who know these engines. How do you build a durable motor? Back in the day it was by building it big and limiting the power. Very little stress on the bigger parts made for a reliable engine. Your truck never had 260hp/350ft-lb stock unless it came with a big block.

Lets review what I've said, that you think is wrong.
Electronic fuel injection and engine management has yielded more efficient engines that create more horsepower than previous generations of similarly sized engines, while increasing fuel economy.
Carburetors are more simple than fuel injection, and that's their only real advantage.
The generous power figures which I posted for our generation of trucks, to your lofty, hopeful figures that you wish your truck had.
every chevy and ford guy here will agree
chevy and ford are better then the little japanese imports like honda and suzuki
