June 11, 2007: Majour construction caught me by surprise as I saw a crane at CP Dorf so I drove over to see what was going on, here they are lifting crossover sections and laying them down. Sorry I don't have more footage, but this is cool, curse 2 GB memmory cards (they fill up so darn quick). Also notible, and caught me by surprise, is the local that passes, with a Dash-9 running long hood forward, now that looks nice, why can't they do that all the time?

  • That's "Panel" track. When installing a switch it's a lot easier both maint wise and speed to just have the thing pre made and put it down like that.

  • Seems like it would be quicker to do it the way it was done 100 years ago.

  • Well, thats still pretty cool, i missed last year, they re did most of the stretch of tracks through here, but your lucky, the only long hood forward i see is off the local GP38-2. Still ok though, Oh yeah, i got up a video from last night, check if you want.
