Words and Music by Matthew Aznoe
"Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit; let the earth cause them both to sprout; I the LORD have created it."
(Isa 45:8 ESV)
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
(Mat 11:28-30 ESV)
In the desert of the soul,
the four winds rush in and you lose control,
of all you thought you had,
and all you hoped to be.
Well, I've heard there's an oasis for the heart,
a place where you can turn for a brand new start,
where you can leave behind your shame,
and give away the pain.
Well, I know it isn't easy
when you're face down to the ground,
and I know you feel like giving in,
there's no hope to be found.
I pray you'll find the strength enough to try,
and I'll pray for rain.
A scorching sun on barren land.
You struggle with the truth and begin to understand,
that God can use these times of trail,
to make a heart of gold.
Well, I know it isn't easy
when you're face down to the ground,
and I know you feel like giving in,
there's no hope to be found.
I pray you'll find the strength enough to try,
and I'll pray for rain.
To the cloudless sky we pray (Lord, we pray)
Give us the strength, show us the way (show us the way)
We need to feel Your living water cleanse our souls
(to the spring of living water, cleanse our souls)
so now we kneel down to pray for rain.
Well, I know it isn't easy
when you're face down to the ground,
and I know you feel like giving in,
there's no hope to be found.
I pray you'll find the strength enough to try,
Yes, I pray you'll find the strength enough to try.
Oh, I know that God will give you the strength to try.
And God will give you rain.

It sounds good. So whats the story behind this song. How did it come about?

@mutti20101 Quite honestly, it has been so long that I cannot remember exactly. I believe we were going through a drought, and it felt much like the times of depression that I had been through. It seemed like a perfect metaphor for a song.
