  • I'm glad this is back on you tube

Sounds just as good as it did 14 years ago

Is this from the Harold Arlen Tribute concert?

  • Yes, this is the Harold Arlen tribute concert. I was surprised to find this myself!

  • WOW I had no idea whatsoever that she ever attempted this song in later years outside of the Film A STAR IS BORN. She was really in surprisingly good voice in 1968, better than she had been in previous years - I don't mean this unkindly, but was this particular Concert in 1968 a "rarity" that her voice with it's up's and down's was in such good shape for that time-frame?

  • All the Garland magic is present in her singing this Arlen song. The legato, the phrasing, the "lift" as the music demands, the range completely intact. What more can we ask of this legend than this late-career perfection?

  • @NFitalianGuy I think the actor's name was James Brown. i hadn't known he was on "Dallas," but i think he was in a show about Rin Tin Tin in the 1950's. He was also on record as a Garland fan.

  • my God.... great voice.... magic and wonderful! this is Judy Garland the best on the world... Unforgettable! thanx Judy!

  • Softly, through the heart.

  • wow this is 7 mounths before she passed away but very great voice!!! Judy is a legend!

  • Wonderful! Are there many recordings from this appearance? I certainly hope so.

  • Whatever the condition of her voice (which I think sounds quite lovely here), she always sang straight to the tear ducts.

  • Thank you so much! This is one of my top favorites and I have never heard this versions.

  • @JohnnyGNV Judy keeps blooming
