    The Band is just a great band. Shame they debuted in 1968 and were completely eclipsed by The Beatles sheer genious of The White Album and Sgt.Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Also, they were a country, soul blues band, whereas the Beatles and The Beach Boys were experimental bands always bringing an awe feeling to the table. The Band played way safer than the formers, maybe that's why they didn't achieve more success.
