Characteristics of a cult:
- Adds to the Bible;
- Diminishes or subtracts the deity of Christ;
- Usually started by a man or group who says that "Christian churches are deceived, I am a new prophet".
- Salvation is achieved by works;
- Views of eternity, i.e., heaven and hell are distorted;
- Denies the Trinity

Some of the Christian churches I have been to would fit these characteristics of a cult, especially in the area of what is sin. Have you ever been to a Calvinist church?

Then there are others that add to the bible catechisms dogmas etc. Then the bible teaches of a new earth (isaiah 65, rev 21) and new Jerusalem ( Heb 12). Where does that fit into heaven? Could modern Christianity be a cult started by Emperor Constantine in the 4th century AD?

yea, and it's plain as day stuff too, ONCE you you know where it is. Those passages I won't ever look at the same. But that's ok, the people who don't believe, that is their choice and I really don't feel like getting into an argument with someone who has already decided he's right and everyone else is wrong. I guarantee he is just BLOCKING that from his view.

Being a member of the "One True Church" is their claim too. That's exactly right! They depend on works for their salvation.

(John 1:1-3,14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Christ accepted praise, worship, forgave sin, the blind see, the lame walk, no bone broken, etc...
