This is Auld Lang Syne as performed by Scottish folk group The Cast. The lyrics to the song are actually a poem written by Robert Burns in the late 1780s, according to Wikipedia, but they (as well as most of the melody) may be more familiar to you as the song people tend to sing just after New Years. This version has no such holiday connotations about it, if you ask me-- it just sounds nice. I'm uploading this because it seems like The Cast is mostly unknown, and while I doubt a single YouTube video featuring a song of theirs will do any good for publicity, it can't hurt.

You know what also can't hurt? Posting links to product pages where you can buy their music.

  • @biriani61 CHORUS We twa hae run about the braes, and pu’d the gowans fine ; But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit, sin auld lang syne. CHORUS We twa hae paidl’d i' the burn, frae morning sun till dine ; But seas between us braid hae roar’d sin auld lang syne. CHORUS And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere ! and gie's a hand o’ thine ! And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught, for auld lang syne. CHORUS
  • So beautiful!

  • has just the right interpretation of this song, which is my favorite, and have always been sorry that everyone only sings it once a year, and never anything but the first verse. thanks for this, it pulls us to the simplicity and profundity of this song.

  • Takes me back to my 60's folk club days. Lovely voice; beautiful arrangement.

  • @herclegirl yeah me too she kept saying "should all aquantance" and i almost threw and axe through the computer.
