Well,come December 21,according to the Mayan Calendar,Quezacoatal;Kim Jong Il and Tom Cruise are gonna fight Jesus;Captain Kirk and Snooki for control of the universe!!
So if Christ;Kirk and snooki lose,we'll all sing"Sukiyaki"before we get 666 on our foreheads!!

I think I had to learn this back in Japanese school. Nope I did. I've definitely heard it before. (⌒▽⌒)
金 anyone know what this means in Japanese?
-
@jamesh625 ah so I was, in a way, RIGHT! =D
thank you

@Sesshomaus1fangirl It is a type of dish in Japan. When this song was introduced to America however, they decided to change the name, despite the fact that it has nothing to do with food.

@carpenterabc I'll be giving away my oldest daughter in January. Is it even possible to get through it without tearing up?

This song is appropriate for my situation in life---especially today on Christmas Eve. Not a good situation.

@chuckbuckbobuck I agree

i thought Sukiyaki was Japanese beef soup ='(

Fab!
This song is so beautiful and tragic. Such a wonderful song of love, and the tragic death of the singer. Is this an accurate translation? It seems rather terse, compact.

@justnancyv Some parts are pretty much translated word-for-word, and in other parts I was a bit freer with the English. That's the trouble with translation: If it's word-for-word, some people complain that the English is stilted and not natural. If more stylistic English is used, then some people will remark, "That's not what XXX means." Oh well...

Great song and great video, only one thing, I would translate "Kanashimiwa Hoshino Kageni, Kanashimiwa Tsuki no Kageni" as "Sorrow is in the shadows of the stars, sorrow is in the shadows of the moon"

@Thegus0 You're right; that would be a correct, exact translation. I vary between translating word-for-word and changing it a bit for "artistic" effect. I did that on another song video I made (Tómame o Déjame) and got some flack for it, lol. Oh well.
