43 degree air temp. The water is warm in the morning and the air was brisk as I dove into the Greenbrier River near Alderson WV

  • As you may know, ardea is Latin for heron. Herons are aquatic birds, and somehow this is my connection. It is good to see that there are others who have touched this wonderful tributary to the New. I enjoy traversing the rapids to access the islands. Although there dwells the common scene of flood remnants, namely trash, I try to ignore it and envision a more ancient moment when it all was pure. As for watches, I have broken so many that time became useless..... Peace and namaste

  • Thanks for the comment, Ardea ... you wouldn't be a realtor wanting to sell lots, would you? Just kidding. I did happen to slip into the Greenbrier on an ocassion when the moss over a concrete crossing was too thick. I came out unharmed although the same could not be said for my Movada wristwatch or sunglasses. It was a good lesson. I limit my purchase for either at about ten bucks now.

  • No dysentary, no giardia. Just plan bliss. The sadhus of India plunge into the Ganges and come out fresh. What is their secret? Mind over matter...............

  • No dysentary, no giardia, just plan bliss.

  • How's the dysentary?
