Chicago's finest; the Lost Generation were formed in 1969. The group consisted of lead vocalist and songwriter extraordinaire Lowrell Simon, his brother Fred Simon, Jesse Dean and Larry Brownlee. Brownlee, who passed away in 1978, was a former member of The C.O.D.'s, Fred Simon and Brownlee later recorded as Mystique on Curtis Mayfield's Curtom imprint. Lowrell Simon and Jesse Dean were former members of the group The LaVondells/the Vondells.

This song is a single release only from 1971, written by Lowrell Simon, Larry Brownlee and Gus Redmond and produced by the late Eugene Record.

Pictured here is The Lost Generation's first LP on Brunswick which was entitled "The Sly, Slick And The Wicked" and contains the huge Billboard R&B and Pop hit "The Sly, Slick And The Wicked" (#14 R&B and #30 Pop in 1970). It's said that this hit single, which was produced by Carl Davis, made it possible for Brunswick to buy the label out of Decca's ownership and strike out on its own. The "Sly, Slick And The Wicked" album was issued on CD, coupled with the Lost Generation's second LP "Young, Tough And Terrible" by Edsel Records in 1999 and is today highly sought after. This is a CD that is on the brink of being deleted. Buy it now, while you can!
I waited several months, had to order and re-order multiple times, as it was constantly out of stock. It is a must-have if you're into Windy City Soul!

Lowrell Simon is one of those unsung, super talented heroes I cant get enough of. He wrote for Notations, a fine vocal group, also from Chicago, Illinois. Contributed to the soundtrack "Three the Hard Way" in 1974, and many others. Lowrell would also make a name for himself as an artist in his own right, cutting a great LP for Liberace's manager's AVI records in 1978, with the hits "Mellow, Mellow, Right On" and "Overdose Of Love" on it, plus "Love Massage" on Zoo York in 1981.
