From the owners of: 83 AWOHALI COVE, WAYNESVILLE, NC

Designed for comfort, convenience, and sanctuary, Round Grove Ranch on Awohali Cove (Cherokee for eagle, their most sacred symbol), is truly a unique and diverse property. Once part of the trail the native Cherokee would take on their hunting trips, it is now home to a variety of wildlife and some very appreciative humans. It is not unusual to sit on the deck and watch a small herd of deer grazing in the adjacent forest or see a gaggle of wild turkeys across the road or spot the occasional elk that has come down for a visit from Cataloochee. Birds of every ilk come to check out the bird feeders and the wild mallard with his mate visit the pond to bathe, watch the fish, and catch a piece of bread saved just for them. It is just awesome to enjoy morning coffee and breakfast on the front deck and silently observe the wonders of nature. Each area of the acre plus has been thoughtfully and carefully landscaped for beauty as well as function. The hundreds of flowering trees, shrubs, and plants take their turns blooming, keeping us interested and excited about what's happening next. Every area of the property can be viewed from the covered decks surrounding the house. The peace and the quiet and the ever-present breeze make for solace away from the hubbub of daily life.

The barn, the dog kennel, and garden room were built with the needs and wants of our dogs(German Shepherds), horses, and garden in mind. With electric power, hot/cold water, and sinks with countertops and plenty of storage room, we could do whatever was needed without running back and forth to the house for stuff. The barn and other out buildings were built with the same care as our home, cedar siding and architectural roofs. We spent days and evenings at the barn with our dogs and horses, enjoying them and the other amenities we had. Now that was sanctuary!

Our home was designed with comfort and convenience as NUMBER ONE GOALS. The living area, as we call it, includes a bright sun room, a dining area, huge kitchen with eat- at- bar, an informal living room, and laundry area. We particularly love the openness with high ceilings and plenty of windows. Our well-equipped kitchen and its closeness to the other parts of the living area make for wonderful meals and entertainment with family and friends. ( We've parked over thirty cars in our driveway and entertained all those folks in our home. ) The ceramic tile floors in this area make clean-up easy. The rock fireplace in the living room provides ambience as well as warmth on those chilly fall and winter days. The view from the living room's large windows is beautiful. NOTE: We also love having our office/computer room off the laundry area. It could be made into a small guest bedroom -- beautiful views from the front of the house.

We love the privacy of our bedrooms including spacious walk-in closets and private, full baths. Each one of the three on the main floor has its unique characteristics - one has a Jacuzzi tub and windows that let the full sound of the pond lull one into sleep. One has a view of the barn ,and the other has easy access to the kitchen/living area(great for the cook or early risers). The two end bedrooms have doors opening onto the back closed in porch with views of the barn area and back of the property. We have found that porch to be a relaxing place - for reading, napping, or just "hiding".

The finished basement has been a great place for company--- having one's own apartment-- not only providing privacy for guests but privacy for us as well. We use the kitchen area for canning in the summer; we also have a wood-working shop in the other half of the basement. The shop could become one fantastic rec room, if someone chose to do so.

Comfort and convenience exude from this home. Its location in one the safest areas of Haywood County and its easy access to major roads help make this an ideal place to live. We have tried to make our home as self-sufficient as possible - no reason to leave. But the property's location is ideal for those times we might want a different adventure -- Asheville, Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, Knoxville, or bigger adventures to Atlanta or Charlotte.

Awohali Cove is truly a little peace of heaven.
