This is Herbie Hancock's tune "Spiraling Prism," (Ndugu Chancler on drums) off his 1980 album Mr. Hands.

Drumkit: Mapex Saturn Pro 6-piece plus second snare, Zildjian K Custom Session hihats, Paiste Traditionals crash and vintage '70s Zildjian A ride.

  • @DetroitDoc That's right, I like a big, fat, dirty sound, ala '80s Prince. I have other snares if I want a more crisp sound, but I always gravitate back towards my big bootie gal :)

  • Hii I was just wondering if u have any mics or anything on ur kick. It sounds very good with fast attack and solid "thuds". Also, wat heads r u using? wat kind of muffling r u using

  • @SuperDrummerJoe

It doesn't sounds out of tune, just fat. Maybe that's his sound. Maybe not yours or mine. But maybe his.

  • See more about Ndugu on SoulDrummers . com

  • @SuperDrummerJoe Snare sounds fine.

  • tune your snare dude!

  • @kz1000ps Harvey is a lot harder to emulate with those ghost notes and how he works the hi-hat.
