A Different World: Here's to Old Friends 1/3

Episode #56, Season 3

Dwayne's old friend Milt comes for a visit. He believes that Hillman is holding Dwayne back, and encourages him to transfer to the University of Pennsylvania. Milt also recommends that Dwayne distance himself from "dead weight" like Ron. Dwayne considers his friend's words, until a talk with Whitley helps remind him of Ron's good qualities and the feeling of family that Hillman holds for its students. He defends the school's academic reputation to Milt. Col. Taylor and Mr. Gaines attend a reunion for U.S. servicemen. Col. Taylor tries to start a romance with a member of his old unit, only to discover that she is a complete mess.

There is so much colorism in this show its not even funny. All of the men lust after Whitley and other light skinned women and NEVER EVER say anything about Kim. This is probably something the show wanted to do, and I think it makes people think.

Damn man...this is when they had good comedy shows--good enough to keep a LIVE audience curling over laughing the whole time. The show didn't depend on a laugh track like all of these lazy shows do today.

@PhreShPimpCeSS I have to disagree with you. One can find his/her own inspiration to drive them to be the best at something,but without the opportunity, you won't have the ability to shine. Without the approriate recognition, you won't have the ability to shine. Coupled with hard work, its irrefutable that you have to know contacts and network. In fact that type of stuff should be taught, especially in predominately african american schools, in junior high school because of so many stigmas.
