This is a vertical steam engine I just got back together. Running for the first time. It was a literal basket case and I made some new parts to replace things that were missing. Still have to work out some bugs. The engine is 3" bore x 4" stroke, stands about 38" to top of cylinder (very small engine). This may be a Donegan & Swift built in New York City somewhere around 1897. It may also just be a copy of one as any town large enough to have a foundry and machine shop was building steam engines. There are a few features of this engine that bear a striking resemblance to the Donegan & Swift.

  • It looks similar to my O&S, most of which I think had flattened sides but mine has rounded sides like this. Also, the crosshead way lube is provided, like this one, by cast on reservoirs on the sides. That is one very nice looking engine.

  • Ive always wanted one of these!

i actually have a few uses for one..
