  • Your videos are very helpful! I'm just getting into green smoothies. Why do you cut off the tops of your strawberries? They are a green and its a green smoothie after all. It would also save time and waste if you left the tops on. Just wondering :)

    Thanks for the note.

    You know, I think when I made this video I thought it may have been too weird for some of my viewers to see me dumping in the strawberries with the tops. So on that day I cut them off.

    I just used a whole basket of strawberries in my smoothie today and I always use the greens. I'm glad you made that point.

  • i have taken the first step to eliminating meds for the rest of my life by getting into the green smoothie craze. i know that you had some issues with depression not sure if anxiety aswell but i was wondering if you had any advise on how many green smoothies i could take per day for my transition from two types of meds to green smoothies ? also i recently found out that a neurotransmitter called serotonin which is the most important thing for someone to feel happy can be boosted by food.

    Yea, I deal with both anxiety and depression.

    Sunshine and exercise are both great remedy's for our issues. Combined with lots of leafy greens you will be on the right track.

    I think Turkey has serotonin in it which is supposed to by why people get sleepy after a Thanksgiving meal.

    Just start with the smoothies and as you start to feel better, you will know when to ease off on the meds.

  • I've taken a mountain of NSAIDs in the last 10 years just to be able to keep moving. But since adding protein smoothies, and now green smoothies to my diet, along with stretches, walking, and other exercises, I've completely quit taking NSAIDs. I'm still amazed at the difference good nutrition is making in my life.  Thanks for showing how you make a green smoothie. Even for taking the time to just let the blender run so I could see exactly what you did and how long it took :)

  • Tryptophan is what's in Turkey that makes you sleepy. Not Seratonin. At least that's what Ive been told. Good videos though. I was so excited when i made my first green smoothie. Finally a way to actually enjoy leafy greens without nasty dressings.
