In Gods initial and ideal world, represented in the book of Genesis by the Garden of Eden, there was no suffering, no exploitation, and no violence at all.

God said, See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth,
and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth,
and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food. And it was so. God saw everything that he had made,
and indeed, it was very good.
Genesis 1:29-31

The consumption of animal flesh was unknown up until the great flood. But since the great flood,
we have had the fibers and the stinking fluids of animal flesh stuffed into our mouths...
Jesus, the Christ, who appeared when the time was fulfilled, again joined the end to the beginning,
so that we are now no longer allowed to eat animal flesh.
Hieronymus (331-420)

Peter
I live on bread and olives, to which I only seldom add a vegetable.
Clementine Homilies XII, 6; rec. VII, 6
(Adversus Jovinanum 1:30)

Matthew
Matthew lived on seed, the fruit of trees and vegetables without meat.
Clemens of Alexandria,
Paidagogos II, 1:16

John
John never ate meat.
Church historian Hegesipp according to Eusebius,
History of the Church II 2:3

Jacob
Jacob, the brother of the Lord, lived on seeds and plants and touched neither meat nor wine.
Epistulae ad Faustum XXII, 3

In the earthly paradise, there was no wine, no one sacrificed animals and no one ate meat.

As long as one lives frugally the luck of the house will increase; the animals will be safe;
no blood will be shed, and no animal will be killed.
The cooks knife will be useless; the table will only be set with fruits which nature offers to us,
and one will be satisfied with that.
From the epistles of Basilius the Great (329-379)

Jesus' message is about love and compassion, but there is nothing loving or compassionate at factory farms and slaughterhouses, where billions of animals endure miserable lives and die violent deaths.

If Jesus lived in our culture of violence, he would do everything he could to confront the structures of death and call for a new culture of peace and life.

Hosea: "I desire mercy and not sacrifice."

  • Genesis 9:3 that's all

  • @AdoublesLdouble ...That was AFTER the great flood, and 9:5 says: And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.

  • @AdoublesLdouble Genesis 1:29 that is for those who do not know: Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

  • What's your opinion on why other animals eat other animals, but people are supposed to abstain from meat? I've always been curious about that.

  • @abbigailwilliams Some animals do not have a choice, but we as humans do have a choice. And look at those animals who do not eat meat, like elefants, horses, cows, they are strong, peaceful and loving. And then watch those carnivores, like lions, they are aggressive and have not so much endurance. And in paradise no one eats meat. If here on earth no one would eat meat, we would have a heaven on earth.

  • Jesus ate meat because God said it is ok. Matthew 14 talks about loaves of Bread and Fish to be fed to many people including children. In 1 Timothy 4v1-in the last days, some church people will follow teachers with devil-inspired ideas.2-These teachers will tell lies so much.3-They will say it is wrong to be married and wrong to eat meat, even though God gave these things to well-taught Christians to enjoy and be thankful for. Certain animals whole purpose of existence is to be food for us.

  • @Zynyster I cannot believe that you really believe in what you write. Don't you see who this devil-inspired teachers are? They are the ones who corrected the bible, changed its content, misinterpreted it and they are the ones who told you that it is OK to eat meat. But we have to pardon them, have to have compassion and wait for them to wake up. It is not their fault, because this world is under the influence of such negativity. The blind are leading the blind.

  • YESUHA was a vegan no doubt about it i also believe that his father would not let him suffer on a cross for us losers down here RABBI means teacher that what JESUS was a teacher to teach us salvation comes by what he taught READ the essene gospel of peace thats the real CHRIST i am a vegan for 25 years i will follow what he taught in that booki believe the bible too but its been tampered with GOD IS LOVE

  • @aeriarose The Bible was not decided upon by Constantine, but by a group of bishops at the First Council of Nicaea. Please do not use the Dead Sea Scrolls as a fall back because you are letting personal preference guide truth.

  • @TheSlypiper Please research Constantine. He was a political roman emperor who murdered both his wife and son, invaded other countries, burned +100 biblical books, omitted parts and changed parts of others to create what you know today as the King James Version bible. He did this in order to decide what "Christians" would and wouldn't believe about God and God's nature. Evidence in the untampered with dead sea scrolls shows Jesus as a strict vegetarian, a Nazarene Essene.

  • @tranquilocito Zynyster is citing scripture and you're just arguing against it. Believe the Bible or don't, but don't claim that it supports a vegan lifestyle and then dismiss what it says elsewhere.

  • @Yitzhakhazak Did Moses after coming down with the Commandments, eat meat? As far as I understand what we know today as Judaism is quite different than the Hebrew faith of Moses time and that which was afterhim up to I think the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. Then there was a shift... that is what I heard, please tell me more about this.

  • @tranquilocito

In the last chapter of the book of John, we Yahushua(Jesus) eating bread and fish with his disciples. Is fish not a type of meat. Anyway, these writings from the essenes might be that other gospel which Paul spoke about. How authentic are theses writings exactly?

    Yahuwah bless you.
