Yeah, I don't know who's idea it was to scrap it, but I'd like to scrap their house & see how they like it. I speak for many others on that ordeal. That was a big blow to the Maine RR historical society's chance to preserve it for future use though. It would have been a perfect setup for the DSRR to run excursions on the East end of the Calais branch. There's a roundhouse too. Now it's just a big garage without the table there. The East end is even more pretty than the West side.

That needs to be put on the RR historical society list. Then it can't be torn down for scrap that way. Unlike a famous turntable that was recently destroyed for scrap.

It was redone my the society but time has gone by with no maintence being done on it and looks like crap now. I dont think it works either anymore. They did take down the ladder from it i think they did this so no one would do a five finger discount on the flags. it would be nice to see it redone with nice new paint again. Thats a shame about the turntable that should be kept for historical site. who oked it to be scraped.
