Visit http://www.recordonline.com for more West Point videos/photos/articles. Addressing the corps of cadets at the U.S. Military Academy, the president said that after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the U.S. saw the urgency of staying a step ahead of our enemies, a policy reflected in what is known as the Bush Doctrine. Bush said terrorism continues to pose a serious challenge, as seen in the attacks last month in Mumbai, but that the terrorists have been weakened. (AP news)

  • Notice the difference between the response Bush got vs Obama tonight.

  • Trash him any way you want, liberals, but he was the right man at the right time. I miss his steady hand as well, even though I disagreed with him at times.

History will be much kinder to Bush than it will be to Obama.

  • @alexanderdirksen so you obviously understand what wars like huh? Shut up

  • @diamondrod9 Uhh sort of in a shitty, "I served no active duty, but I'm willing to send other men's sons to a possible death over 6,000 miles from their country" kind of way.

  • @alexanderdirksen He was actually in the Airforce. But he did not serve any active duty, true.

  • @LewWaters Yeah, if you happen not to read books, and only watch Fox News, it will be tougher on Obama.

  • @bigdogsdontbark you should see the difference between reagan and obama's welcome

  • @LewWaters well said

  • @alexanderdirksen

Bush was in the military. And no offense but we don't need Canadians outlook on things.

Address videos of your own military and leaders.

  • @alexanderdirksen Uhh he was in the military...

  • President Bush was certainly able to play the part, but there's a difference between him and presidents like Eisenhower - Bush never served in the military. If he did, he'd understand what war is like, and might have been a little less eager to send troops into war.
