Micheal and Mahalia met each other in heaven.
-
The queen of gospel music and the King of pop, both died so young and too soon, long live to king and queen.

Jehovah's Witnesses sing more of white peoples psalms, not in the class of Mahalia Jackson's spirituals. I think Michael would have loved this video, being the soulful person he was and probably still is.

@PSALMSOFSONGS well, mj and his family listen to negro spirituals and did a lot of things even though they were so called JW's such as the kids in night clubs singing, etc. And mj left the JW's and used gospel choirs like andre crouch choir and winans choir, etc. and went to church with steve harvey, and he deeply believes in God and Jesus.

Im pretty sure she was a great and powerful influence on them, though.

@heyathere1000 Of course, Jehovah's Witnesses have hymnal books with a lot of negro spirituals. Mahalia Jackson sung mostly negro spirituals. But to they do not listen to gospel music according to a Witness that I know. He said It is "against the Witness Religion". Also, if you compare negro spirituals and gospel, they sound totally different. I love both kinds because they both lift up The Name of Jesus but they are different.

@PSALMSOFSONGS Wow, I just found this part out, look at this: Everytime I Feel the Spirit - Negro Spiritual, and Mahalia Jackson song the exact same song: "Mahalia Jackson"- everytime I feel the spirit", whcih is a negro spiritual which mj and his siblings and mother use to listen to all the time when they were children, wow, it's amazing how I found that out.

@PSALMSOFSONGS Yes they did, the public may have not known, but they did. MJ mentioned in one of his 1984 interviews in a article that he and his siblings and mother use to listen to "negro spirituals" which is gospel music. MJ also song his first song "climb every mountain" and had gospel choirs in his songs that he purposely specifically choose: andrew crouch choir and winans choir for "man in the mirror", "will you be there", and "keep the faith". MJ also went to church with steve harvey, etc.

I would not put Michael Jackson in the same league as Mahalia Jackson.
I don't know, but I think they didn't really met another. I'm a fan of both and made this video of two Jacksons.
