Welcome to Aperture Academy...
The Aperture Academy, brainchild of master photographer Stephen Oachs, is a unique combination of a beautiful 4,000 square foot photography gallery combined with on-location workshops and our state-of-the-art classroom facility.
Students of the Aperture Academy receive hands-on instruction designed for their individual skill level, which includes everything from learning to shoot in the field to digital post-processing techniques.
At the Aperture Academy, we offer over 100 different classes ranging from half-day workshops in and around exciting and beautiful San Francisco, to our 2 and 3 day adventures at amazing locations such as Yosemite National Park, Death Valley, The Grand Canyon, Arches National Park, and many others.
Aperture Academy instructors work with students of any skill level, from "point and shoot" beginners to advanced photographers looking for fresh perspectives, new technologies and techniques.
And, our low student-to-instructor ratio ensures plenty of one-on-one interaction so everyone gets the most out of their learning experience.
