And who was the winner of Young singers?! I never heard of this Category :) Anyway, the categories began in 1984, not in 1983

There were two categories but only one league and one winner. The singers of Group A (young singers) were 18 and only 8 reached the final, the singers of Group B (Big) were all admitted to the final.The same regulation was applied in 1980, 1981 and 1982. Since 1984 there was a winner for each category.

Untill 1984 it was not any Categories at Sanremo Festival.

Big and Giovani Categories began since Sanremo Festival 1984, when they introduced for the first time The New Section = NUOVE PROPOSTE (Giovani).

Infatti, a parte l'attacco un po' "azzardato", debbo dire che l'esibizione live è di tutto rispetto... Per inciso, purtroppo uno dei due cantanti (ma non so quale) è morto anni fa...

@bbittico E' quello vicino alla mora. Gesualdo Arena in arte KIm, era di Catania , ma visse artisticamante a Milano , sua lo voce di speedy gonzales nell'omonima canzone.

@mapp69 Si erano Italiani: Celso Valli tra l'altro ha scritto un sacco di musiche per artisti italiani che all'epoca cantavano in inglese (Vedi Raf), lo stesso Arena insieme a Piccarreta è l'autore del testo di questa canzone.

@bbittico Kim Arena era il cantante di colore mentre l'altro è Chuck Rolando. Quest'ultimo tra l'altro ha prestato la voce nei primi 2 dischi del progetto Den Harrow (to meet me del 1982 e a taste of love del 1983). Ciao :)

Oggi non sarebbe più posibile per loro gareggiare a San remo cantando in inglese per il semplice fatto che il regolamento impone di cantare in italiano (italiani o starnieri che essi siano)

I understand. That was the difference. Thanks. I made a 6 Gb DVD with all finalist songs i found from Sanremo Festival between 1951 and 2010. I worked for 5 month at this project, I'm sorry that i was not able to find all artists and their songs in the years of 50's... I asked a friend from Italy to find them for me, but it seems that he didn't have any success in this matter...
