An exciting British instrumental from 1962/3 era. Sax led, but great guitar breaks, great bass & drums - a really tight sound. Recorded by the legendary Joe Meek. The Group leader Peter Jay was the drummer. They looked amazing when they appeared on TV with a matching set of Vox Phantom guitars! Ultra-modern way back then.

  • My Dad was the bassist. Very cool to see this link here :)

  • @blimy Great bass on this track - you must be proud of your dad. I always loved this track, and bought the single when it first came out. Along with so many bands of the era, never really got the recognition with the general public that they really deserved. Chas.

  • Wow it so long ago, in another world, I can remember we have a 1964 plymouth listening to this on the radio.

  • Hello Blimy - Who's your dad mate? My dad 'Jeff' Moss (actually Geoff), played bass etc in the Jaywalkers.

    Cheers Alex

  • @longnamesarebetter2

    Yes, he does.

  • @blimy @blimy In 1960 Jeff broke his leg in a car accident. Peter Jay came round to my house in Norwich to see me (I was playing bass in a group called the JetBlacks at the time) and asked if I would dep for Jeff until he was fit to gig again. I leapt at the chance, and did some great local gigs; but only for a short while. (There's more)
