Did this guy ever play in Europe? It seems like he would if he played today. The top Americans usually go to average clubs in Europe like Fulham, Standard and Wolfsburg. Back then, if you said "American" they pretty much cut you off. We can thank Reyna for opening the gate.
Donovans career began after Wynalda's ended right? There was no friendly or match where they where on the same field? Different generations right? (Donovan premiered in 1999)

Waldo spent time in Germany where he tore up the Bundesliga for a half-season before really cooling off when his role changed for the team and he was injured.
Waldo and Donovan never played together. Waldo's last caps came in 2000, but none in games in which Donovan played.
