I hate it when my parents talk about this. All they did was disallow teachers to lead students in prayer. And almost all public schools have a moment of silence (which is a minute or 2 long) which is basically designed for people to pray.

I took my students through a 5 minute meditation to alleviate test anxiety. I think that we should be directed as children to sit still--not in a "time-out" way, but in a calming way. My students (who are freshmen at a NYC community college) were not nearly as resistent as I thought they would be. And they performed significantly better on their exams. I told them that taking deep breaths gets oxygen to the brain and slows your adreneline and they were surprised--as I was when I heard it.

To be honest It doesn't seem necessary to have a special time set aside for prayer in school. Personally I think it would be wasted time.
Besides what was removed from school was MANDATORY government sponsored prayer. Anyone can pray in school whenever they want, provided they aren't yelling it aloud during class.

You know he might be right about the prayer in school. If we prayed for knowledge in school instead of seeking it, there would probably be no computers to malfunction.

In Iran, the very same thing happened that you were talking about when the british and the white americans came to work the oil business. hey man, you don't have to miss me at all. I am back in full force. It took me less than a year to get 1000 subscribers, and i bet i will get that back before the summer.
