Nice Video. Lots of good information. I have a 10 horse 3 phase motor i would like to turn into a generator. If the three phase motor is 5,000 watt will i get 5,000 watt if i use it as a generator. And how efficient is it??

@Wildatheart73 Hi,
You will not get anywhere near 5000 watts. Do not think it will convert.

Hi Dan, on the left traditional generator. I have an old Honday EX1000. I was wondering if I can use the generator part for a windwill? I don't understand with both rotor and staor with windings, where does the initial current come from if there are no magnets and no battery to energize the primary windings? Anyway, you think this could work for a windwill?

Some generators use the magneto for the start, actually tricky to find the information on that for each model.

I do not think a generator would be a good option for wind because they require 3600 rpms continuous.
