In the first episode of a special two-part film Rageh Omaar looks at why Islam has come to be described by some people as a "very American faith".

He traces its history in the US and talks to American Muslims about how their belief is compatible with the principles of American democracy.

  • @Zeliaan Scientific method is attributed to Ibn al-Haitham (in 1000), as is Physics as an experimental science rather than a philosophy. Ibn Hayyan developed many of the experimental techniques of chemistry in the 700s, and led the transition from alchemy to chemistry. Abu al-Qasim al-Zahrawi has been called the "father of modern surgery", and the tools he instruments he designed and used in the year 1000 are recognizable to any modern surgeon. These men were Muslims living in an Islamic system.

  • @michael1956able hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, i cant stop lauging at you..

  • @Zeliaan islam and sceince go hand in hand.. dont confuse us with other religions..

  • @TheLegoauto Most Arabs I know in my school aren't Muslim. In fact one of my friends, who is from Syria, wore a golden cross around his neck when he came here, but has ultimately dropped religion now.

Want a book of absolute truth? Don't pick up the Bible or the Quran, pick up a Science and Math textbook... our ability to observe and our capacity for abstract thought is what has given us everything we have.

And if you argue that God gave us those thing, you're an idiot.

  • @gregoryz3 Lol dude. If you see the US census you will know that Arabs in USA are one of the most educated ethnicities there, and have the most respected jobs. What is urantia book? btw it took a bit long time for you to answer :P

  • @TheLegoauto not sure where you get your stats from but i think you need to recheck yourself..Your aware that the US census has been completed. And there have been many recent world census's taken.Iknow a few so called muslims myself but they just say they are. They live theyre lives based on a christian, judaic and zoasterism belief system but say theyre muslims but islam was a plagerism of the religions before it.If your open to the truth read The Urantia Book and lets become a familly again.

  • @ummayesha2009 What foul comments are you talking about???I know the truth and the truth is Jesus is the son of God.God blessed me with the holy spirit 2 years ago ,so now i am a son of God.You must be born again of the spirit to see the kingdom of God.

  • @michael1956able well I choose to pray to God as a whole not in three parts. I believe he is all powerful and able to do things without having to be incarnated as a man in order to experience life. As I have respected your faith and your idea of the trinity I will kindly ask that you keep foul comments about my faith to yourself and show respect like the person you are trying to be Jesus Christ. Noone will get to God except through me I accept Jesus but do not worship him.

  • @ummayesha2009 I pray to the father,Jesus said ;Pray like this; Our father ,who art in heaven, hollowed be thy name.Jesus also said, whatsoever you ask of the Father in my name, that he will do..Praise the father ,the son, and the holy spirit.Fact; I have all three and theres nothing you can say or do that will ever change that..peace be with you

  • @michael1956able I hope you wake up to the bible being the most rewritten holy book ever known to man where as the Quran has never changed and we are more loving of Christ than you will ever be. As he (Christ) said again and again worship my father and not me, in the same book you are picking and choosing from. When Jesus said come companions and let me teach you to pray he never once said when I die redirect this prayer to me. The trinity is a muddled concept that is misguided.
