Plant a School will connect children of the world in a solidarity movement that will result in the planting of billions of trees and in assuring primary education for all by 2015.
HOW?
Daniel has old batteries, newspapers and empty bottles that he wants to throw away. Matt told him about the recycling program of the local school that is promoting a greener world with Plant a School. Daniel goes on the schools page of the Plant a school website and learns valuable tips on contributing to a sustainable society. He then brings his recyclable wastes to the school. There, the new entrepreneurial and eco-friendly children sort everything out and make a profit of 183$ from Daniels waste. The Cool School has accumulated enough money to Plant a School in Nepal.
In Nepal, the new students-to-be buy 2000 diversified trees from the local nursery. In the structure of a cultural event, the whole community plants the trees that will be the seed to their new school.
The students of this new school will access the Plant a School website and learn how they can contribute towards a healthier planet. In solidarity, other schools, governments, organizations and individuals join the movement. Billions of trees will be planted and every child will be attending school by 2015.
OK, I give you money to plant trees. Trees are good for the environment. Profit is used to build schools. Fair enough, I'm in.
