the old yemeni peoples were great and intelligent, but yemeni people now they jsut leave Qat and they will be more than the past.

Yemen is a poor country because its rich natural resources are being exhausted by a corrupt government. Greed and corruption have ravaged the nation of Yemen for decades, causing even international investors to withdraw from the country and pushing potential investors away. With it's strategic harbors, natural resources (large oil/natural gas reserves) and strong tourism industry are enough to elevate Yemen to a stable economy. However, gov't corruption has made this entirely impossible.

How come Yemen is among the poorest countries in the world? Bad government?

We need not dwell on our great past, when we as yemenies have not built our present or offered any great hope for our future. Our corrupt goverment is only a representive of those whom it governs.
